 Over the past 120 years, some laws were put in place to protect Hominids in North America.   These laws are very scarce and few in numbers.  However, they set a precedent in efforts to protect the Sasquatch species, despite the government and scientific community’s denial of their existence.  Bigfoot research has greatly developed over the past decades despite ridicule, and these local protection laws still send a message.

 

 

Canada

 

British Columbia

In 1905, BC Government Agent Marshall Bray has stated that it is unlawful to kill ‘Mowglies’ in the province of British Columbia at ‘any time’.  He had responded to an individual’s letter of permission to shoot the Wild Man of Horne Bay.  This letter was published in an article in The Colonist in 1905.

United States

 

Washington State

In April 1969, Skamania County in Washington State established Ordinance No. 69-01 in order to protect Sasquatch-type Hominids.

 

In April 1984 the Ordinance was amended and updated into Ordinance No. 1984-02. The amended law established the Hominid species as an ‘endangered species’ and created a ‘Sasquatch refuge.’

 

In June 1992, Whatcom County created Resolution No. 92-043 to protect Homonids in their territory.  

 

These laws are a good effort but clearly not enough to protect Hominids worldwide.  Federal legislation is needed to ensure their personal and physical safety, in North America and abroad.   The involvement of First Nations tribes and Indigenous groups would be needed to help implement a cultural/historical context to the Sasquatch species, and validate them as aboriginal tribes.  Also, enforcing the view that the Sasquatch are people, and not mere animals.   If Hominids are people, they are entitled to be added to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

 

There is still a way to go before getting authorities to acknowledge the Sasquatch Hominids as tribes of feral, aboriginal people; however that day may come sooner than we think.  Until then, the Eastern Canada Sasquatch Organization strongly advocates for Federal protection laws for all Sasquatch species.  It also recognizes the Sasquatch as an aboriginal people with human rights.

Au cours des 120 dernières années, il y a eu des lois mises en place afin de protéger les Hominidés dans l’Amérique du Nord.  Ces lois sont minimes et très peu élaborées.  Par contre, elles créent un précédent dans les efforts pour protéger les espèces Sasquatch, malgré le déni de leur existence de la part du gouvernement et la communauté scientifique.  La recherche Bigfoot a grandement développé au cours des décennies malgré le ridicule, et ces lois locales continuent d’envoyer un message.

 

 

Canada

Colombie-Britannique

En 1905, l’agent gouvernemental Marshall Bray a stipulé qu’il est interdit de tuer les ‘Mowglies’ dans la province de Colombie-Britannique ‘en tout temps’.  Il a répondu à une lettre de permission envoyée par un particulier qui voulait tuer l’homme sauvage de Horne Bay.  Cette lettre fut publiée dans un article dans The Colonist en 1905.

Ces lois sont un bon effort mais clairement insuffisantes afin de protéger les Hominidés à travers le monde.  Une législation fédérale sera nécessaire afin d’assurer leur sécurité personnelle et physique, en Amérique du Nord et à l’étranger.  L’implication de tribus des Premières Nations et groupes autochtones seront nécessaires afin d’établir un contexte culturel et historique aux espèces de Sasquatch, et afin de les valider comme étant des tribus autochtones. De plus, il faudra clarifier le point de vue que les Sasquatch sont des personnes et non des animaux.  Si les Hominidés sont des personnes et des individus, ils sont intitulés à être ajoutés à la Déclaration universelle des droits humains. 

 

 

Il y a beaucoup de chemin à faire avant d’obtenir l’acceptation des autorités fédérales concernant les Hominidés Sasquatch comme étant des tribus de peuples aborigènes; cependant ce jour pourrait arriver lus rapidement qu’on ne le croit.  Jusqu’à ce jour, l’Organisation Sasquatch de l’Est du Canada appuie fortement le développement de lois fédérales pour les Hominidés Sasquatch.  Elle reconnait aussi les Sasquatch comme étant des peuples indigènes ayant des droits humains.

‘En 2004/2005, une partie de mon travail a été présentée au Musée de Vancouver dans une exposition intitulée SASQUATCH. L’exposition était basée sur le livre Meet the Sasquatch (2004) pour lequel j’ai fourni des recherches et des illustrations détaillées. Depuis lors, l’exposition maintenant appelée SASQUATCH REVEALED, a voyagé dans huit musées publics en Amérique du Nord et réside actuellement en prêt permanent à l’International Cryptozoology Museum (ICM) à Portland, Maine, États-Unis.’

‘J’ai été demandé par le journal local pour aller étudier des empreintes dans les Mont-Valin au Saguenay. Le moulage a été effectué par un inspecteur des coupes de bois. Il avait bien raison, car nous étions en présence d’une empreinte de bigfoot. Je suis allé sur les lieux et nous avons vu une empreinte de 20 cm et une de 45 cm.’

‘Pouvez vous nous décrire la région dans laquelle vous vivez, d’un point de vue cryptozoologique: des observations, des témoignages, des empreintes; des faits-divers ?

  Le pays du Québec est 7 fois plus grand que la France, donc il y a beaucoup de territoire à observer. Les terres de la rive nord et la rive sud du Fleuve St-Laurent sont les régions les plus populeuses. Au nord, ce sont d’immenses territoires très peu habités. Il faut se promener dans ces territoires pour écouter les gens qui ont vu des phénomènes. Trois personnes de la région du Saguenay font la même description d’un comportement d’un animal marchant sur le coté de la route et qui soudainement fait un saut au milieu de la route pour s’accroupir dos à eux.  Un autre témoin nous rapporte le même comportement dans la région de l’Outaouais.  Quatre témoins de régions différentes nous racontent qu’il étaient à l’intérieur de leur chalet vers la brunante et ils nous décrivent le même récit « Une espèce de gorille avec des yeux rouges nous observait par la fenêtre ».

 This report focuses on Quebec Bigfoot Researcher Yvon Leclerc who has studied cryptids especially Hominids in the province of Quebec.   Leclerc was called to investigate sets of footprints in Mont-Valin in the Saguenay region in 2001.  He took footprint castings and continued his research on Hominids.

 

Leclerc contributed to the Meet the Sasquatch Exposition in 2004 in Vancouver, which later was called Sasquatch Revealed.

 

Later in his interview with Strange Reality in 2020, Leclerc states that there are many reports of Sasquatch sightings in the province of Quebec and similarities in descriptions from one region to the next.  He mentions the region of Outaouais and Saguenay in Eastern Quebec.   Some witnesses have described a ‘gorilla with red eyes’ looking in their window.

The witness was at Champlain Lookout in Gatineau Park and heard a growl while on a trail.  The witness got ‘spooked’ and left the area.  (Report noted on March 25, 2024)

 

 

R: I'm surprised that there are no pins for within the Gatineau Park circumference. I can't confirm or deny myself but, I did hear something strange up near the Belvedère lookout in the trails in the back. It was a growl. I was running on the wide trail back to the parking lots. It spooked me. I picked up the pace, looking back now and then to see if it was a bear or coyote or even a wolf. Didn't see anything following me.

Since I was behind the group and the sun was setting and I don't remember if I had my headlight, I wasn't going to gamble on the possibilities.

 

S:

I was wondering if you had some more detail about the growl you heard at belvedere Champlain.. When did this occur? So you were jogging?

 

R:

Hi S. It's pretty much as stated in the comments. On our way back from the run, I was trailing at the back cause i was tired. There was a go-hut at the side of trail, I went and as I was slowly heading back, I heard the growl, very distinct like when a dog or a human makes a growl. I saw no signs of animal activity when I stopped to relieve myself and I saw nothing as I left the hut. The rest was stated in my post.

Oh, right before covid, 2019 maybe? I'm not good with dates, sorry

(…) I remember my late aunt mention that a friend of hers out hunting in Wakefield or Gracefield and he either saw or heard something in the woods. She couldn't tell me more. I was a pre-teen or so.

 Le témoin était au Belvédère Champlain dans le Parc de la Gatineau et a entendu un grognement lorsqu’il était dans le sentier.  Le témoin a eu peur et a quitté les lieux.  (Rapport pris le 25 mars 2024)

 

L’incident s’est passe en 2019 en fin de journée et le témoin courait avec un groupe dans le sentier près du Belvédère.

Le témoin a commenté sur un de mes vidéos, et rapporte une observation qu’il a faite avec un ami en 1994 au Saguenay.  Il a vu un Bigfoot ‘en haut d’un pic ’.

J’ai répondu au témoin lui ai demandé plus de détails; nous avons continué la conversation par courriel.  (rapporté le 23 Mars 2024)

 

PL :

Bonjour S , oui j’ai quelques détails. J’habitais en campagne dans le rang des Chutes à La Baie au Saguenay . J’étais avec un ami et nous empruntions le chemin pour se rendre à ce qu’on appelle le pic-500. Nous marchions en parlant et en regardant en haut du pic jai vu cet immense hominidé brun très foncé. J’ai dis à mon ami de regarder et nous avons crié et sommes partis à courir de toutes nos forces. J’avais 10 ans et j’avais déjà vu des ours et autres animaux. (...) il était immense presque 3 mètres de haut et 1,5 mètre de large . J’aurais aimé être à l’époque des cellulaires parce que j’aurais la meilleure des preuves . Je me suis renseigné et je crois qu’un biologiste a trouvé des empreintes suspectes dans les Monts-Valins au Saguenay vers 93-94 . Peut être qu’il était parti en reconnaissance ou qu’il était perdu car il n’y a pas grand chose pour ces créatures près de là malgré les forêts. Il semblais vouloir regarder au loin . J’avais déjà vu beaucoup d animaux mais j’ai eu la peur de ma vie et nous avons couru sans arrêter . Comment un bête aussi immense peut rester introuvable comme ça . Peut être font ils partie d’une autre réalité . Peut être ont-ils vécu ils y a des centaines de milliers d années en telle harmonie avec la nature qu’ils sont restés gravés dans sa mémoire . Sinon ils sont bien réels et certains vivent dans les monts - valins qui sont très étendus, ils seraient introuvable dans cette nature sauvage et infinie ce qui est logique  . Si vous voulez je peux aller prendre une photo là où je l’ai  aperçue il y a presque 30 ans . Merci je vous tiens au courant .

As- tu pu voir les détails de son visage ? 

 

Je sais qu'Yvon Leclerc a fait des recherches a Mont-Valin et a trouvé des empreintes de 18 pouces..  C'est très gros..

Bonjour S ! (…) . Malheureusement je n’ai pas pu voir les traits de son visage vu que la silhouette énorme nous a effrayé à l’époque et nous sommes partis à courir .

 

 Il était de type très foncé et très gros pas comme les singe - moufettes du sud des États-Unis. Je n’ai pas pu sentir l’odeur .

 

(…)  Je faisais de la motoneige plus jeune dans ces endroits ils me sont familier autant que possible vu l´ immensité des lieux .Si les bigfoot sont au Québec il y en a forcément dans cette lmmensité sauvage .

 The witness commented on one of my videos and reported a sighting he had with a friend in 1994 in Saguenay.  He saw a Bigfoot ‘at the top of a ridge.’

I responded to the witness and asked more details; we continued the conversation by email. (Reported on March 23, 2024)

Hello S, yes I have more details.  I was living in the country in rang des Chutes a la Baie in Saguenay.  I was with a friend and we were taking the road to what we call ‘pic-500’.  We were walking and talking and as I looked at the ridge I saw this huge dark brown hominid.  I told my friend to look and we screamed and ran as fast as we could.  I was 10 years old and I had seen bears and other animals before.  (...)  he was huge, almost 3 m high and 1.5 metres wide.  I wish we had been at the age of cell phones because I would have had the best of evidence. (…) I have seen a lot of animals but I had the fright of my life and we ran without stopping.
